Materials

Rubber is available in various formulations and grades, each possessing unique properties that make it ideal for specific applications.
These variations allow rubber to be tailored for diverse industrial and commercial uses.

EPDM Ethylene Propylene

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)

EPDM rubber is a synthetic rubber known for its excellent resistance to heat, UV, ozone, steam, and chemicals. It performs especially well in outdoor environments and in contact with water or steam.

Key Advantages

  • Wide temperature range: -40°C to +120°C (up to +140°C for special grades, and up to +204°C in steam applications)

  • Excellent weather resistance: resists UV, ozone, oxidation, and moisture

  • Chemical resistance: compatible with glycol-based brake fluids (DOT 3, 4, 5), phosphate ester hydraulic fluids (HFD-R), alcohols, ketones, and esters

  • Low-temperature flexibility: remains elastic down to -57°C

Limitations

  • Not suitable for mineral-based oils, fuels, and non-polar solvents

  • Low surface adhesion

Common Applications

  • Waterproofing in construction, automotive weather seals, industrial gaskets, marine structures
