Bonded Seal for High-Pressure Hydraulic Connections

Bonded Seal
Bonded Seals for Aerospace and Automotive Applications

Applications
Bonded Seals are used in aerospace hydraulic connections and automotive fuel systems, ensuring leak-free performance.

Specifications
Constructed with a metal-rubber composite design, engineered to deliver high-pressure sealing reliability.

Certifications
AS9100 certified and NADCAP approved.

The Bonded Seal is a combination of a metal washer and a rubber sealing element, providing reliable sealing in bolt or screw connections. As the bolt is tightened, the rubber seal compresses to make contact with the surface, while the metal ring prevents over-compression and enhances joint integrity.

Key Features and Benefits:

  • Compatible with various thread standards (Metric, Whitworth, BSP, etc.) and provides stable performance across a wide temperature and pressure range.

  • The metal ring limits seal compression to prevent rubber damage and leakage; reusable.

  • Suitable for vertical or overhead installation and allows automated assembly, ideal for mass production.

  • External visibility of the metal ring enables easy installation verification; can be used directly on flat surfaces without a housing for sealing lips.

  • Available in various combinations of rubber and metal materials to suit diverse industrial applications.

1. GM1000 Type (General Metric 1000 Type)

  • This is the most common standard bonded seal type. It features a flat rubber sealing element bonded to a metal washer. The rubber is aligned flat with the metal ring for tight surface contact.

  • Application:
Used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, general machinery, and fluid sealing applications.

  • Advantages:

    • Widely used with both metric and inch sizes

    • Standardized design with good compatibility

2. BS Type (British Standard Type)

  • Based on British Standard dimensions. Similar in design to the GM1000 type but sized according to BS pipe and fitting standards.

  • Application:
Commonly used in British or some European equipment and piping systems.

  • Advantages:

    • Optimized for BS pipe threads and fittings

    • Compatible with international specifications

  • Catalog for RS

3. SCR Type (Self-Centering Ring)

  • A self-centering bonded seal with a special inner profile or step in the metal washer. This design helps automatically align the seal on bolts or screws during installation.

  • Application:
Ideal for automated assembly lines or applications requiring fast and accurate installation.

  • Advantages:

    • Easier and faster installation

    • Improved sealing accuracy due to precise alignment

We offer a wide range of sizes and material combinations to suit your needs.
